Fairbanks Elementary Holiday Concert

Preschool, Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, Youth Choir
Thursday, December 10th FHS GYM~7:00 pm

Elementary students will report to a posted high school classroom AFTER 6:30pm, please.

Coats may stay with you or leave them in the classroom

Please have your son/daughter dress nicely. No jeans, tennis shoes, sweats, etc. School dress code does apply.

Youth Choir– please wear BLACK pants and your t-shirt. You may wear a long sleeve under if you choose. 

4th grade costume– If you are participating in the “misfit toy” costume, please wear that on stage. FYC members may wear their shirt underneath.

Holiday apparel is welcomed, but not required (Santa hats, antlers, etc)

Preschool & K parents– you may get your child after they leave the stage.
The concert will be recorded and posted online for your viewing.

The Elementary Spring Concert will be on
Monday, May 4, 2015
7pm- FHS Gym


Students that are performing:
Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 5 general music, and FYC
  • report a HS classroom beginning at 6:30pm. (No sooner please, as no one will be in the room with them.)
  • Signs will be posted so you know what room to go to.
  • Grade 1: Dress in your animal costume OR dress nicely. Preferably no jeans, tennis shoes, short/sweats, etc.
  • Grade 3 & 5: Please dress nicely. Preferably no jeans, tennis shoes, short/sweats, etc.
  • FYC members are to wear their concert t-shirt and BLACK pants.

The concert will be video recorded. After the concert it will be available to view here on the blog.

*Students that participate in the concert that evening will earn bonus points!!
The students have been working very hard and have shown a lot excitement this past month!  I’m very proud of all their hard work and look forward to sharing their gift of music to you!

Mid-Year Concert

7pm-HS gym



Performing ensembles in order:
Youth choir
Junior high band
FHSCChoir
FHSCBand

FYC members:

  • report to band room by 6:30.  Perform at 7pm (attendance is required)
  • Wear BLACK pants, FYC t-shirt, long sleeve under *optional
  • You may leave after your performance if director is notified ahead of time. 

FHSCC members: 

  • report to band room for warm ups at 6:30pm. 
  • You may watch the FYC perform at 7pm then report back to band room
  • Concert BLACK. 
  •  -Gentlemen: black pants, white dress shirt, tie, dress shoes
  •  -Ladies: black pants, black shirt, black skirt/dress, dress shoes (hose/tights if you wear a skirt)
  •  -school dress code applies.

General Information

  • If you are on set-up or tear-down crew, please help fold chairs and move equipment.  Bonus points or NHS/NJHS credit are available. Sign up on Mr. Keller’s office window to receive credit.
  • It is asked that all performers stay for the entire concert.  It is only polite and good concert manners to do so.  The concert will last just under 1 hour.  Only students excused in advance may leave before the end of the concert. Please treat other performers as you would like to be treated. 
  • SIT WITH YOUR FAMILY when not performing.  Complaints have been received about large groups of students sitting in the back of the gym making TOO MUCH NOISE while other groups are performing.  You are expected to use your BEST CONCERT MANNERS, students.
  • Students are asked to be on their best behavior while not performing.  There is NO reason to talk while another group is performing.  Please only leave the gym between groups unless it is an emergency.

If, per chance, severe weather is imminent, watch your regular TV station, and/or check the band or choir blog (www.fhsbando.blogspot.com) (http://www.tcoopermusic.blogspot.com) or Twitter (www.twitter.com/fairbanksband) (http://www.twitter.com/fairbankschoir) or check your INTANT ALERT.  Students SHOULD know of any cancellations before school is over, but if it gets bad after school, these are your methods of information.

CONCERT IS STILL ON


Despite today’s school cancellation due to fog, tonight’s concert is still on! Youth choir will warm up before the concert in the band room. All the other performers are to be in the gym ready to watch the concert with their families at 7 PM. Help is still needed at 5:30 with the performer and audience set up. The more the merrier!


FHSCC: you will warm up during 6th grade band. Please report to band room with 6th grade band is called to the stage.

FHSCC concert dress: 
Ladies: all black (dress, pants, shirt)
Gentlemen: black pants, black dress shoes, white shirt, tie


Youth Choir:
6:30pm-band room
7pm- Perform
7:15pm- finish performing and sit with parents in gym

FYC concert dress: t-shirt and black pants
